Design novelty is less satisfying to the owners of this home than classic building forms used in unconventional ways. Built on a standard-sized lot, their home, designed by Architect Bill Henderson comprises two distinct segments connected by stairs at the entrance. Viewed from the street, it takes a two-storey ‘pavilion’ form but the living area and most of the bedrooms are contained in the single-storey ‘courtyard’ form behind it.
