Lichen Lane, Hawea

400 sq.m double storey home with four bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a separate media room and a rumpus room/gym.  The brief was a large family home with plenty of outdoor space with the feeling of indoor/outdoor flow.  The two court yards on either side of the kitchen allows all day sun, ideal for those BBQ’s.

The kitchen brief was it had to be fully functional yet contemporary.  This was achieved by having two central islands fully accessible on both sides incorporating the oven, hob, sink, dishwasher and microwave with somewhere to sit and eat or work.

The hallway and landing was to be light and spacious and the contemporary designed balustrade brought this together leaving an open and airy feel to the space.

The media room was to be contemporary with some traditional features and integrating the macrocarpa beams fulfilled this requirement.
